Born on a cattle ranch, I grew up playing in the creek running through our property, exploring the hillsides, and chasing herds of deer on horseback. It was a way of life far removed from the average modern American, but one that forged my spirit of self-sufficiency and thoughtful observer. My name is Todd Porter.
I’ve always found comfort in nestling in next to life flowing around me and observing. Through my travels and daily perceptions, new perspectives continually are forged before my eyes. Picking up a camera to capture and seek these moments and perspectives was immediately a natural extension of my essence.
Today that essence, combined with a zeal for food, fascination with people, and a phenomenal partner/love I’ve forged a career I love: as a professional food, portrait & special events photographer. Our advertising, cookbook & editorial clients include Williams Sonoma, Whole Foods, Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Weekly, Dole Foods, Thermador Appliances, The French Culinary Institute, Wiley, Sterling Publications, Lark Crafts and Houghton Mifflin Hartcourt.
Outside of my professional life, besides seeking and training in aikido, my love, Diane Cu, and I continue to share our stories on food, travel, and life through photography on our site, WhiteOnRiceCouple.com.

Jennifer Stuart’s interest in the web began shortly after starting her career as a graphic designer. The first version of her personal blog, theworkingmom.net, was launched in 2001, the early days of the blogosphere – when the word “blog” was still an obscure term. Initially starting on Blogger, then Greymatter, then MovableType, she found her way to WordPress in 2004. As she expanded her knowledge of web development and web scripting (with PHP and Javascript), she kept a secondary blog, Scriptygoddess.com, to keep track of what she was learning. As time went on, her interest and skill in web development grew to the point where she now runs her own business, Stuart Web Development (stuartweb.net). 90% of her work involves creating custom WordPress sites, themes, plugins and functionality.
Jennifer recently moved to Silicon Valley, and is loving life in California with her husband, son and daughter.

When teaching with his wife, Me Ra Koh, Brian humorously shares how photography didn’t find him, his wife did and asked him to carry her camera bags. But it didn’t take long for Brian to find his own passion for photography. Within a few years, he went from carrying his wife’s bags to becoming an award-winning photographer to shooting million dollar weddings with his work exhibited nationwide. But unlike many artists, the creative process didn’t come as natural as the technical. Coming from an engineering background, f-stops and shutter speed made total sense. But how do you compose a moment that evokes our emotions? This is the question Brian set out to answer. His unfolding journey led him to eventually quit his engineering day job to teach alongside his wife at their CONFIDENCE photography workshops for women, empowering them to create images outside of the box and beyond their self limitations. He is the man-behind-the-scenes of all that Me Ra Koh Media does. Me Ra refers to him as a walking manual for every camera make/model and manufacturer! Brian and Me Ra are known for making their audiences laugh and cry while infusing them with confidence. Together, they have designed a life that lives outside our culture’s boundaries and enables them to not only inspire others but be inspired themselves, whether it’s homeschooling their kids or photographing monkeys in the jungle.
